Who where and what in the world's elite League

So Football seems to be changing in not just an un noticeable way. So some massive rule changes on who has a say at the table to make or break rules and regulations, and the willful destruction of some what were once major trophies in the English game. I think we would all agree that the premier league was a great idea and that its provided English clubs with a lucrative target to aim for. So with the influx of foreign investment and players both have had more positive effects than negative but some negative effects have occurred. So with the decisions that have been made, which do we agree with, and what will be the fall out of the one's we don't. So lets have a look at what the big boy's have decided and what we have to look forward to in the future.

So radical rule changes, the premier league wants to reduce the size of the top flight to 18 teams making the top flight even more inclusive. The plans would see the premier league hand over 250 million to help bail out EFL clubs to help stave off a financial disaster. Is the current climate being used to help the premier league clubs push this through with other changes coming as well. But are they using the financial situation of the other clubs to ease change, as the big wigs hold the other 72 league clubs over a barrel. Before we make those decisions lets look at the other changes and then have an indepth look at them.

1. The reduction in size as mentioned above.

2. The bottom two teams in the premier league relegated automatically with the 16th placed team joining the championship play-offs.

3. The league Cup and community shield abolished.

4. Parachute payments scrapped

5. 250 million made available immediately to EFL clubs. That's some barrel.

6. 100 million made available to the FA to make up for lost revenue.

7. Nine clubs given special voting rights on issues such as rule changes, and that's based on the amount of time spent in the premier league.

So the big clubs in England are tightening their grip on top flight football, and monopoly in the game is truer than ever before and what makes this ironic is as if the situation was not so real you could scream conspiracy, as the lesser clubs clamber for survival. So with the offer of millions and needed millions who is really going to object. Well the premier league it's self has, with the Government and supporters. But at the moment i hear no club or clubs and like i say it's like offering a thirsty starving person a drink and a meal and the money is obviously a welcome gesture but it always seems to come with serious changes, and always lessons the other clubs grip on the game. So we should ask ourselves would the premier league be anything without the other clubs in their league never mind all the other EFL clubs and so should there not be a fairer way of coming together and making decisions that effect all clubs i think so.

So the English game is the most watched around the world and stands as an example of what a league with astonishing amounts of TV money can become. So the premier league clubs state that to maintain that position we must come together to look at the structure and ways  basically we can re invent ourselves to keep people interested which makes total sense to keep our league top. As without that re invention we can not say it would maintain its position. Other major leagues around the world are obviously looking to draw SKY and other companies away to move their league to the most watched. As some of us can remember the Italians domination in the 80's as the English game has not always enjoyed this lofty status.

So what are the competition changes that are going to achieve this premier league make over. The league Cup and charity shield are going to be abolished under the new rule changes at least the charity shield would go and the league cup would have a complete over haul.

So the objectors of this seem to be more worried about the grip the top clubs would have on the game and the fact they would be able to dictate about rule and competition changes. So the premier league and their statement disagrees with what the top clubs are proposing they go on to say they are disappointed to see that Rick Parry chair of the EFL has given his on the record support. The department for culture, media and sport condemned what it called a backroom deal. They said also ''We are surprised and disappointed that at a time of crisis when we have urged the top tiers of the english game to come together and find a solution to the current climate they find a deal being cooked up that would create a closed shop at the very top of the game'' A spokesman said.

BBC sport said that this is the biggest shake up of the English game in a generation. The premier league has already given it short shrift, viewing this as a regrettable power grab. In fact one well placed Premier league source has described it as a ''takeover attempt rather than a rescue package.

For years the bigger clubs have wanted more money and more sway this is an unprecedented financial crisis and this sounds all good at the moment but surely conflict of interest will rear its ugly head if not now in the near future but like we said earlier clubs are not likely to challenge or moan at this offer because this sort of money is needed at once in the game so it might be one of those, act now regret later.

Parry and the EFL big wig says the gap between premier league and football league is a gap that's getting to the stage that its unbridgeable. With 146 million sent to the championship compared with 1.56 billion shared between the bottom 14 prem clubs. Also the majority of the money sent to the championship was received by clubs with parachute payments. The government backs supporters saying football is more than a business to be divided up but its a big part of communities so fan consultation is necessary. So a government fan led review is ear marked. So is this the move to re invent FOOTBALL AS WE KNOW IT AND HEAD FOR A EUROPEAN SUPER LEAGUE, as this sort of project has also been banded about by top european clubs and like i said earlier other major European leagues are desperate to get into the pools of money created by world TV subscription  and what it provides. So as power moves away from a regulated system to a power house english top 6 deciding the fate of the whole of English football is this a good idea. At the moment it is but the future could be bleak and as the top 6 talk about a narrowing of the gap between prem and EFL in the future, could it lead to a widening as clubs start to think outside the box and leave the domestic league as a competition to enter a European super league. This is also a danger as local supporters give way to a world wide audience and so its not local. As supporters could be sold tickets in moscow for an arsenal man u game played in Madrid is this what our Game is heading for. Who knows but if we are looking at a prem cup played like a world cup every 5 years in the summer anything is possible it sounds exciting and different and the money is needed now I just think there should be more regulation as clubs are owned by billionaires and the pound note rules everything with no thought for the real supporter who paid and helped the game get to this level, the game is already leaving its working class roots behind. So decisions decisions lets just hope the game remembers the true force the terrace warriors and firms alike. As lads are already saying clubs are selling them out and vow to support local lower league clubs were we can stand on the concrete but the new proposals do say a return to standing with rail seating good at least my beloved way of watching football is back soon. Never thought i would see it no more kicking every ball on my arse. Thank you god bless please follow you can find this in the menu section.
